School spirit has become synonymous with game-day gear or university t-shirts and jerseys. When I attempt to dress to show school pride, the first things that I think to throw on are one of the various items I have acquired from The M Den for pre-game parties. This Fashionista caught my eye because her bold color choices nicely contrasted each other (not to mention, they were maize and blue!). I got to thinking that this is a creative way to show school spirit: wearing stylish pieces of clothing that represent your school’s colors. This Fashionista easily achieved this look with her Express Cardigan and Madewell scarf. The website does not carry the exact scarf that she wore, but the Plaid Illusion Scarf, is another cool choice. With the Michigan vs. Ohio State hockey game coming up, this gave me a bunch of different ideas for what to wear to the game. I am not saying that I am opposed to wearing a simple Michigan T-shirt, but when the games fall on a Friday or Saturday night, this is a great way to get dressed up for whatever you might be doing after the game while simultaneously supporting your school.
If you are a supporter of showing off school pride, like me, you might also be interested in checking out Victoria’s Secret’s PINK Collegiate Collection or just combining your favorite maize and blue pieces together. One suggestion is layering navy and yellow polos or wearing an argyle blue and yellow sweater. I happen to love Lacoste's Short Sleeve 2 Button Stretch Pique Polo and it conveniently comes in both Jay Blue and Limoncello Yellow. Everyday school spirit apparel is a great way to combine your creative personal style and your love for your school.
