Style Advice of the Week

This week, I have an extra special post. My featured Fashionisto isn’t officially an Ohio Bobcat, but on Saturday, he was part of the OU family for the day. A student of West Point, the United States Military Academy, he looks quite charming both in and out of uniform.

For having to wear a uniform, this Fashionisto did a great job raiding his closet for a snappy outfit. He is sporting a blue, semi V-neck button knit shirt that is both form fitting and classic. The best part about this outfit, undeniably, are his thin-striped corduroy pants. Corduroy doesn’t get the amount of respect it deserves these days. It can be a staple when worn correctly, and the key is pairing it with a bright color (as does this Fashionisto) or with a plain, gray scale item.

His brown leather dress shoes and West Point class ring serve as his accessories, and his little yellow lab is icing on the cake. While his outfit incorporates classy, elegant pieces, at the end of the day, it still possesses a college feel, which is why I liked it so much.

If you want to re-create this look, it is simple to find his fabulous pieces. Forever 21 has a variety of knit shirts, and Nordstrom sells plenty of corduroy pants in multiple colors (though I recommend a more basic, neutral tone for first time corduroy-ers). For shoes, any semi-dressy shoe will do for this ensemble, but I found these Madden Harlows quite fitting.

I think this Fashionisto proved to be a very classy guy. He dresses to the nines both in and out of uniform, and I salute his keen sense of style.
