Style Advice of the Week

Chilly weather is here to stay for our short winter, folks! And although I love it, I find myself having a difficult time getting dressed in the morning. My closet lacks in variety when it comes to jackets and sweaters, but I seem to have plenty of mini dresses, skirts and shorts. So how else does one stay warm yet stylish? Layers, of course!

This week’s Fashionista is rocking some major layer love. She starts her look with an eclectic, embroidered chambray shirt. She pairs the shirt with an oxblood skirt, the trendiest color for this season. She keeps warm with a camel colored cardigan and a pair of black tights. She completes the look with a fabulous pair of black, suede booties and a crossbody beige bag. She keeps her beauty routine pretty and natural by letting her hair hang in loose waves and wearing minimal makeup.

If you’re wise and you’d like to replicate this Fashionista’s look, the key is to layer up and do so with some of the best trends this fall, like oxblood. My favorite take on this trend is a pair of oxblood hued pants. They’re to die for! But if you’re a little less bold, try a top or skirt in the same color. This color works great with a variety of colors and textures, so don’t be afraid to pair it with denim, black, brown and gray — just like our featured Fashionista. Complete your look with a great pair of ankle booties and you’re fit for fall.
