Style Advice of the Week

Can you say '80s flash back to the iconic Molly Ringwald? When this Fashionista first caught my eye that’s what popped into my head. Everything from the Ray-Bans, hair, leggings and the attitude, she has it. Who wouldn’t want to have the essences of a star, right? Her outfit is comfortable and fall ready, but the most attractive thing this Fashionista is wearing is her confidence.

Her look is edgy chic with a softer side, which is apparent through her choice of a cozy sweater. Oversized knit sweaters are easy and a style that looks great on anyone, so take notes. It is an essential piece for fall because of its versatility. You can throw it over colored jeans, over a long pleated skirt, or do like this Fashionista and pair it with some leggings. You can also change up the sweater color and go for a bold knit and neutral bottoms. All in All, I am all for the chunky sweater craze for fall.

Her rocker side really comes out with her layers of metal bangles, studded accessories and combat boots. She even shared with me that she made her bike chain bracelet herself, huh, stylish and crafty.

Her look seems quite simple at a distance but when you take a better look, you will see every piece has a purpose. I love that about her look because she didn’t just throw on some bracelets and boots and call it a day. She put together her outfit with pieces with comfort in mind for those long classroom hours and pieces she handmade. When you can make your style that is when you know you have it. I will be looking out for her more and may attempt to disguise her so I can take her pictures again—just kidding! From this Fashionista you should take away that wearing things that are trendy does not make you stylish. You have to put together your own styles and be genuine, then you will have the best style of all—yours.
