STYLE OF THE WEEK: A Gray Spring

With the weather finally getting warmer, I’ve noticed how quick students are to put away their long sleeves, pants and jackets. Everyone around me has been so quick to bust out sleeveless tops, summer shorts and casual sandals, clearly ready to throw out their winter wardrobes and welcome warmer weather.

As a college student on a budget, my wardrobe isn’t as well rounded as I’d like it to be, with integral pieces I wear for each season though I lack a full wardrobe for each. By the season, I honestly tend to reuse outfits more than I should, trying to make do with what I have without having to empty my bank account. Luckily, some of us have found ways to work around the shift in weather without having to purchase a completely new wardrobe.

Keep your basic favorites in your wardrobe and mix and match them this spring. Items like a casual gray knit, white sneakers and black joggers are so integral for current wardrobes and don’t yet have to go out of style and back into the boxes until next winter. Make your look even more ready for spring and summer by adding accessories fit for those seasons, like a pair of your favorite sunglasses or casual flip flops.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Just because the weather’s getting warmer doesn’t mean that we have to put away warmer winter clothes. Casually layering a T-shirt with a sweater for a day in the city means we don’t have to pack up our winter wear just yet.”
