At last, summer is finally here! Warm weather, longer days and great vibes are all the things that come to mind when I think of summer. I personally like my outfits to represent the way I feel or to represent my surroundings. That is why I’ll be incorporating the color yellow into my wardrobe all summer ’16!
Say hello to the new “it” color of the summer. Yellow! It’s the color of the sun, the color of happiness and the color that is a definite necessity for your closet. The color itself can seem very overwhelming at first, but with the right shade and accessories it is for sure an eye-catcher. Celebrities are effortlessly taking advantage of this trend, specifically Beyoncé in her music video for her hit song “Hold Up”. In the video, Queen Bey prances elegantly through the streets of New Orleans in a beautiful Roberto Cavalli fall ’16 yellow ruffled, off-the-shoulder dress. Other designers, for example, Christian Siriano have also implemented the bright color into their collections. Siriano’s Fall 2016 ready to wear show was filled with fun and flirty statement pieces complemented by bold colors such as red, black and yellow!
The best part about this bright color is that it is very versatile. The range of shades of yellow is very broad, so finding a shade that complements you best is not a problem. Also the color is not just for a casual day time look. Anything mustard yellow with a pair of pumps would look fantastic for a night out on the town. To tone the vibrant color down, try pairing it with black, white or gray pieces. If you want to brighten the color even more, I recommend color-blocking it with another bright color such as turquoise or coral. Lastly, yellow is the perfect accessory. It will add an immense pop of color to an all-white or denim outfit. The possibilities for this vibrant color are endless!
