STYLE GURU STYLE: Winter Layers

Just when I thought spring was near, the snow storm decide to stop by one last time. The crazy weather in Michigan always get me guessing sometimes. One day it’s sunny and warm out, and then the next it’s snowing and freezing. As a college student, I always layer up my clothing to stay warm during the winter time when I travel from class to class. But l often forget to layer up clothing on the lower part of my body and end up only covering the upper part of my body. (I mean, don’t we all do?)

For this look, I kept it really simple by pairing a white blouse and black skinny jeans together. Over the outfit, I’m wearing a long navy blue coat that hits right above my knee. Having a long coat is perfect because it can also cover your thighs from the cold. For shoes, I’m wearing my faux leather over-the-knee boots which is great because it keeps the cold air out. You can also add more layers by wearing a sweater over the blouse, wearing leggings under your jean to keep your legs even warmer from the cold wind. Also, wear a hat, scarf, and gloves to keep warm. This look is simple yet stylish. This outfit is great as a casual office look.

Well, it seems like this cold weather isn’t going anywhere any time soon. I would like to know what your tips are on how to layer up to stay warm for the winter. Now, I’m just wishing for the spring weather to be here already, so I can start pulling out the maxi dresses. Stay warm for those who still have snow on the ground, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
