STYLE GURU STYLE: Winter Blues

I’ve always loved the luxe jewel tones, the rich textures and the warm knits of winter fashion. However, it feels a little less like December and a little more like an Indian summer this month in Ohio. Which makes now the perfect time to try adding an unexpected blue to your winter wardrobe.

I love this top because it is sort of a play on a classic button-down shirt. The buttons run down the back, and the typical shirting material makes this top so easy to style. I can’t wait to wear it with a skirt and a cardigan when the weather gets a little colder. Here is a similar top to try out with pieces in your own closet!  I styled it with basic black jeans and easy ankle booties too help make this shirt more casual and fun.

I finished my look with my favorite tote from a company in Cleveland, called Fount leather. Not only is this bag big enough to carry all my books for the day, it is so trendy and cute! I think in today’s world it’s hard to find quality products that are made ethically. This tote helps my local economy and keeps jobs in America. There are so many sustainable and conscious brands that we can all support to help make the world of fast fashion a little slower. I think it is important to know where your clothes come from and how they’re made. I can feel good about carrying this tote not only because it looks good but because it does good too.
