STYLE GURU STYLE: White’s Not To Love?

I would love to meet the person who made up the “rule” you can only wear white from Memorial Day until Labor Day and show them how wrong they are. White on white has become a major fashion trend throughout the past few seasons. The alice + olivia spring 2015 ready-to-wear runway show mixes classic white on white outfits with a pop of color through accessories or with neutral heels for a more polished look. I couldn’t help falling in love with this collection; it’s sleek with the bold prints and elegant with the use of soft colors and full skirts. Many of the looks could be dressed up or down depending on the occasion, which makes them perfect from the upcoming spring and summer months.

Taking inspiration from the collection, I started with a quilted geometric skirt with a silver zipper going up the front and paired it with this adorable lace white short-sleeved shirt from Forever 21. The two patterns add perfect detailing to the outfit since both pieces are white.

The alice + olivia show kept the shoes simple with neutral colors. I matched my outfit with these adorable Dolce Vita wedges. The white strap goes along with the outfit but the tan adds the neutral and simple color needed. For summer, who doesn’t love a huge bag that they can throw just about everything in? The Tory Burch York bag is perfection for those hot summer months when you need to bring along every beauty product for touching up due to the hot weather, plus the color matches every outfit.

White on white is a great trend to wear throughout the seasons!
