STYLE GURU STYLE: White Out

Nothing complements a summer tan better than a little white dress. From frocks to frills and all that’s in between, these white pieces come in a variety of shapes and styles. The color is ultra flattering and classically feminine, creating a template for so many different looks. So until Labor Day arrives, I will wear my pure whites unapologetically.

While all-white ensembles may call to mind yachting excursions or posh parties in the Hamptons, this look can be rocked for nearly any occasion and by any Fashionista. It’s only downside? Having to avoid transforming an all-white dress from a chic garment into your own personal napkin (which will glaringly reveal all those unfortunate spills).

Inspired by the looks of Giamba’s 2016 resort collection, I showcased my own take on the little white dress. The piece I am wearing features a low neckline, drawstring ties at the sleeves and a full, billowing skirt. The dress also cinches at the waist to create an hourglass silhouette. As Giamba’s collection illustrates, I also decided to play with bright splashes of color for an added element of flair. I accomplished this aesthetic through my accessories; I layered multi-colored and gold-toned necklaces and donned a beaded mosaic bracelet. The bracelet also features the metallic gold that is seen in the necklace, creating a perfect coalesce of supplemental, subtle hues. The vibrant pops of color give the ensemble a quintessentially summery and bohemian vibe.

Get My Look: 1. A little white dress. 2. A multi-colored, seed bead bracelet. 3. A simple gold necklace.
