STYLE GURU STYLE: White On White

Watching the runway show for alice + olivia spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, gave me a lot of cool style inspiration. The collection was very versatile and not one piece was similar to the other. The collection displayed many different styles and was full of color. There were florals, stripes, polka dots and solids. But one particular look stood out to me the most and had to be my absolute favorite, which was a monochromatic white look.

The word monochrome has become a “situation,” as the word describes a popular trend that can be worn many awesome ways and is rarely ever wrong. My absolute favorite color for a monochromatic look is an all-white, or an all-black look. In this week’s article, I decided to go for the all-white look after being sucked in by this super gorgeous runway look in the alice + olivia collection. This look can be adjusted and worn as both a casual look and a dressier look. If you are brave enough, why not make it a professional look as well. Monochromatic looks can be versatile in style and color. They also can vary in texture. For example, denim on denim is monochromatic even though it is not necessarily colored, and happens to be a very trendy combo right now.

This all-white look is easy to work with, because there is not much you can not do with it. You can wear red shoes, blue shoes, black shoes, any color of the rainbow! Well… maybe not just any color, but you should get the point. I accessorized with gold jewelry because gold is my absolute favorite accessory to match with any ensemble. I went for comfort with these thick strapped sandals which are extremely lightweight and were the perfect contrast for my look. I could have easily put on white shoes, or white distressed jeans, because that is just what makes the versatility of monochrome style RAD. Almost anything goes.
