STYLE GURU STYLE: White Hot

The Giambattista Valli resort 2016 collection featured an abundance of color-blocked pieces, boasting yellow, white, black and red blocks juxtaposed with iridescent florals and chevron on an array of frocks. I love the collection because it struck a solid balance between simple, minimalistic style and vividly fresh prints for summer. These effortless runway looks can easily translate from a picnic in the park to a night out on the town.

The refreshing prints of this collection inspired me to step out of my black-on-black and color-blocking comfort zone and splash a whole new color palette into my wardrobe: white. As a blonde with a fair complexion, white has never been the ideal hue to bring out my best features. Putting the fear of looking like a washed-out ghost aside, I decided to incorporate a rather adventurous all-white dress to my wardrobe with my own personal touch of boho-chic.

Mirroring the white frocks featured in the Giambattista Valli collection, I donned a simple white A-line dress with scallop detailing at the hem (another one of my favorite trends this summer!). The crisp white dress was the perfect piece to take me from a day in the office to a networking event in the evening.

To top off the look, I chose to stick with relatively neutral hues to keep the ensemble fresh and glowing. I snagged the perfect pair of Steve Madden wedges at T.J. Maxx, and they happened to look awesome with the dress! I also threw on my favorite pair of pearl earrings, a delicate gold necklace and a fun pink watch to add just a splash of color to the outfit. To add a little bit of drama to the look, I rocked my favorite fringed satchel, which beautifully reflected the colors in my wedges.

Get My Look: 1. A white dress. 2. A pair of wedges. 3. A fringed satchel.
