STYLE GURU STYLE: White Black At Ya

I’ve always been a fan of strictly black and white looks. These colors look crisp and modest but can still make a bold statement when paired together. The Alexander Wang resort 2016 collection really caught my eye as I was browsing through the different looks. The collection is very wearable, compiled mostly of basic black and white pieces. The leather fabrics give a more edgy vibe as well as the platform sandals seen with many of the designs.

I was very inspired by this Alexander Wang collection because of its versatility and the overall black and white color scheme. To create a look similar to those found in this runway show, I made sure to keep the outfit simple but chic. I paired a white cuffed sleeve cropped T-shirt with black leather shorts. A lot of the shirts in this collection were very casual so I kept that trend going with a basic white T-shirt. There were also a bunch of leather pieces including skirts, dresses and pants found in the Alexander Wang designs. For this reason, I thought these high-waisted leather shorts were the perfect way to add a little edge.

I didn’t want to over-accessorize since the designs were pretty basic, so I just added a leather tote bag along with some oversized black shades. To complete my inspired look, I wore black platform sandals, which have big buckles on them comparable to the platform sandals the models were all wearing.

This Alexander Wang resort 2016 collection could easily be taken right off the runway and be made wearable to walk the city streets. My inspired look replicates this idea, keeping with the basic yet sophisticated black and white color pattern. To get this captivating look, use the links below for pieces both alike and affordable.
