STYLE GURU STYLE: Wearable Menswear

Looking for inspiration for my recent interview wasn’t challenging at all. I decided to switch up my look and take inspiration from Tom Ford’s and Burberry Prorsum’s fall 2015 menswear collections. Tom Ford kept the looks simple with all black pieces which could easily be tailored to fit anyone style. I mean, everyone loves a good black outfit. Next, I spotted Burberry Prorsum. The amazing trench coats have been on the market for some time now and have definitely caught my attention. Pulling all those inspirations together, I decided I could make a rockin’ interview outfit.

I styled a simple white blouse with my favorite alice + olivia leather black skirt because I refuse to wear pants! On top, to keep my shoulders covered and tie the whole look together, I found this amazing rag & bone blazer on sale for more than 50 percent off! When thinking about the Burberry trenches, I went on the hunt and found this one from Topshop for less than a third of what the Burberry one costs, not to mention it can easily be dressed up or down to fit with any occasion. To keep myself warm, I paired simple black tights with my favorite Topshop booties. I have seen trench coats in all the store windows here in New York City so I thought I would follow in line. To keep a little bit warmer, I added a simple checked scarf from J.Crew. Overall, I took menswear pieces and converted them into a simple, chic outfit that allows ones own fashion sense to peek out.

Get My Look: 1. Tailored pants or leather leggings 2. The perfect fitted blazer 3. A crisp oxford shirt.
