STYLE GURU STYLE: Warm Tones

Lately, I have been noticing that I have been mix and matching colors with prints. My staples this summer have been obsessively statement pieces, lipstick and either olive vests or basic leopard flats. Although my flats have been through various seasons, there is something about them that makes it hard to simply throw them away and buy new ones!

Also this summer, I have been playing with a variety of tones and hues. I love a mixture of rustic oranges combined with olive and basic skinny jeans. I often tend to think my go-to look revolves around urban chic or street style. So that is why it makes sense that I am completely in love with the A.W.A.K.E. fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. Although the collection may seem out of season, the designs, aesthetic and overall feel of the collection is a must love.

In her collection, the designer combines a mixture of tones that work cohesively. By pairing an olive green vest with black bottoms, not only does it stand out, but it is seemingly easy to put together. If I were wearing denim instead, the extra accessories isn’t needed. My other favorite thing in this outfit is the thrifted gold fold-over clutch. It works perfectly for day to night.

My outfit includes an oversized T-shirt from H&M tucked into a black pant. To add to the look while taking inspiration from A.W.A.K.E, I didn’t want to wear tons of makeup. The Oil-Free Moisturizer from Origins always keeps my face feeling refreshed and in tact despite hot weather. The gold necklace, also from H&M, adds a nice touch and blends perfectly with the other tones in my look.

Whatever look you are going for, I think it is important to think about the tones and color palette you embrace. Although it may be overwhelming to some or daring to others, these pieces come together to create a chic standout look.

Get My Look: 1. Any gold clutch. 2. A classic olive vest. 3. Leopard flats.
