STYLE GURU STYLE: Vogue Approved Jumpsuits

In bare leg weather, dresses are a no-brainer—throw one on and you’ve got a complete outfit without making your room an absolute mess. Ladies, you know what I’m talking about! Coordinating a full outfit during the heat of summer isn’t for the faint of heart—and we don’t all have the pleasure of having Kylie Jenner’s stylist to do the work for us. For the days when you don’t feel like coordinating a top and bottom but need a little more substance in the style department, a chic one-piece jumpsuit or playsuit has got your back.

Taking inspiration from the KENZO fall/winter 2016 collection, I picked up the ’50s housewife staple of cigarette pants and pumps with my own edgy, rock ‘n’ roll attitude. This jumpsuit has a nice, somewhat bold striped pattern, so I kept my accessories minimal and ditched my staple wide-brimmed hat that has been everywhere with me this summer. This particular jumper is 100% cotton, so it’s nice and cool during our 80 degree weather here in Tennessee. I mixed up my textures to include open suede booties to get an airy look. During the fall, I will ditch the crossbody by adding a black backpack, a black leather moto jacket and a brimmed hat to complete this outfit and make it super edgy

My outfit includes a retro Liz Claiborne jumpsuit I found at a local vintage shop, complimented with lace-up Very Volatile booties, a leather woven Banana Republic crossbody bag and a few of my favorite vintage rings that I wear with literally everything!
With the red, white and blue detailing, I’m feeling some type of retro Americana vibe—a millennial ready to vote!

Get My Look: 1. Any striped jumpsuit. 2. Woven crossbody. 3. A pair of lace-up booties.
