STYLE GURU STYLE: Vintage Baby

This is the last post for the summer semester. I really do not want to say goodbye to my position as Style Guru, and I hope to meet you folks again next semester. For the last post, I decided to introduce to you my favorite style: vintage lady. The inspiration comes from alice + olivia’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. In this collection, the designer took elements from modern art and fashion of the ‘50s and ‘70s. The vibrant colors from modern art gave ‘50s tea dresses a new and refreshing look.

The major item of my outfit was the light blue tea dress. The major color of alice + olivia’s collection was orange while mine was light blue, which I thought was more suitable with the summer. I simply paired my dress with a pair of classic, black heeled sandals. The classic style of my sandals was suitable with the whole vintage topic.

In order to look vintager, I decided to finish my look with some vintage accessories. I wore a crystal necklace and bracelet, and they were both in shape of leaves. Pearl is the symbol of class and purity, which is just the right color for the innocence of the color of my dress. The round sunglasses were the most vintage style among all the other sunglasses. The braids on my head were similar to the hairstyle from ‘50s, too. There were still two things that I thought could improve this look: a red lip and floppy hat certainly could make me look chicer.

Get My Look: 1. Tea dress. 2. Classic heeled sandals. 3. Round sunglasses.
