STYLE GURU STYLE: Vampire-Chic

Alberta Ferretti’s pre-fall 2015 collection is incredible. In the most respectful way possible, it totally reminds me of an elegant clothing line for vampires. Would that make it appropriate for me to call it “killer?” Take a look at it. This line screams vintage. I mean, it’s patterns are almost ancient looking. Ferretti definitely incorporated her European culture into this Renaissance resembling collection. After scrolling through her photos, you’ll spot an entire wardrobe for any modern day Queen Elizabeth.

I love her use of mesh, lace and embroidery. These materials truly define her vintage look. Ferretti designed an entirely unique collection that’ll, without a doubt, turn heads this spring. The dress I’m sporting above gives off a similar vibe. After checking out Ferretti’s collection, I knew I needed to whip out my dress and get all dolled up.

I wanted to stay true to my own style. Having said that, I incorporated a few of my own favorite pieces into the look, keeping it more relaxed and modern. Instead of pulling my hair back, I let my locks fly free. My Steve Madden platform booties make this ensemble wearable for a number of occasions: a night out in the city, a broadway show or a nice dinner. They add an urban vibe, perfect for city life in Chicago. Those modeling the collection wore little to no jewelry, but I can’t go a day without wearing a watch and a statement necklace. That’s why I wore my favorite Michael Kors map watch with my gold pendant necklace. It’s always nice to spice things up a bit. Integrating your personality into any look is key. Rather than completely mocking someone’s style, make it your own.

Therefore, I guess I can say I look like a spunky, modern day vampire? Would that make me a Cullen? Psh, they wish!

Get My Look: 1. A lace dress. 2. Some platform booties. 3. A pendant necklace.
