STYLE GURU STYLE: Valentine's Day Sneek Peek

So, I have a confession to make…I may or may not be falling in love with…Jeremy Scott! Besides the fact that his online shop has moving images or gifs to model the apparel and that he has a collaboration line with Shrek (yes, the movie), I think I’m falling in love with Jeremy Scott because of the recent red dress look that Gigi Hadid modeled as she opened his fall 2014 ready-to-wear show.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I have to admit, the love is in the air. I had to take advantage of this slightly decent weather so I put together this look inspired by the fuzzy red sporty-chic dress and of course, I had to put my own spin on things.

I recently found this super dope calf length plaid dress and as soon as I saw it, I was in love. First of all, I love plaid but what really drew me to this dress was the back! Just like the Jeremy Scott line had jersey-like designs on the front of their dress, mine has jersey-like designs on the back! Secondly, I love the calf length trend going on at the moment. Many people are wearing midi skirts (I actually did a post on how midi skirts are the new mini skirt) and now midi dresses are a thing! I love it and as you can tell, I’m already on the bandwagon!

Lastly, I’m obsessed with the side slits this dress has. It adds an edgy and sexy flare to the whole ensemble and is subtle but sweet. I paired the dress with my favorite accessories. These black booties are super classic and I wear them almost every weekend when I want to strut into a party but keep comfortable all night. This hat was a last minute add-on to the outfit but I think it really tops everything off very nicely and I had to throw on this chunky scarf since it is still winter and there is a chilly breeze.

Get My Look: 1. The plaid shirt dress (only exclusively found online). 2. A chunky cream knit winter scarf. 3. The perfect hat to top off any outfit.
