STYLE GURU STYLE: Up To The Knees

Ever since I saw my best friend rocking black knee-high boots, I knew I had to get a pair of my own. In Florida, it is hard to wear anything fall related unfortunately, but that makes things more fun because I get to play around. One of the main trends that got me excited for fall was the over-the-knee boots or knee-high boots. I have never owned a pair of these, so I knew this season was the time to play around with them!

The main looks that I was inspired by for this outfit was from the MSGM fall 2015 ready-to-wear runway. Many, if not all, looks incorporated boots, many of which were knee-high. Several of the looks featured colorful, black and patterned knee-high boots; they were then paired with a simple colored or patterned top.

In this outfit, instead of having to wear long sleeves, a coat and pants, I was able to still stay comfortable in the 80-degree weather while rocking my new black knee-highs. This is the main trend that I am featuring. These stand out from everything else because the outfit itself is neutral and matches; it gives the bold black boots attention. Before I picked out the boots, I actually found this turtleneck sweater and skirt, which happened to be the same exact color. They went together so perfectly. I really liked how the cropped sweater and skirt matched because the overall look came together looking very chic and simple. On the skirt are two rows of buttons that add nice detail that has been showing up on some of the coats on the runways seen by Gucci, Chloé, Sonia Rykiel and several more. I did not want to add any crazy accessories, so I kept it clean with a black small cross-body bag and a rose gold watch.

Get my look: 1. Black knee-high boots 2. A neutral colored turtleneck sweater and skirt 3. A simple black cross body purse.
