STYLE GURU STYLE: Up To My Neck

Winter in New York is becoming unbearable. The only way you could possibly stay warm in the negative temperatures is by covering every inch of your body with warm fabrics and stylish sweaters. One way to do so is by wearing turtlenecks, which are definitely becoming popular again this season.

My outfit this week was inspired by Chanel’s fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection. This collection definitely stood out to me with all of its bright colors and comfortable turtlenecks. Although my turtleneck is not as bright and colorful as those in Chanel’s runway collection, it still serves the same warm purpose. It is a neutral color that is easy to pair with many other colors, but it also has some red and green stitching in it to make it very unique. It is oversized, which is another reason it kept me so warm and cozy. Chanel’s collection also showed that you could pair turtlenecks with many different types of long necklaces. I chose to wear a simple, long gold necklace to add a little bling to the outfit. I paired that necklace with a matching gold bracelet and watch. Lastly, on my feet, I wore my favorite studded combat boots. These boots bring a little more texture to the outfit while also bringing a little edge. They match my turtleneck’s neutral color while still standing out on their own.

If you’re trying to keep warm this winter, try sporting a comfy, oversized turtleneck. Not only will you look super stylish, but you will definitely not be shivering around campus!
