STYLE GURU STYLE: Tying In Tie-Dye

April 26th, 2016 at 2:00am

The A.L.C. spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection, featured a black belted maxi dress that has a golden brown tie-dye accent to it on the bottom. The collection included a lot of bohemian styled dresses. The dresses ranged from crochet, knit and chiffon. Other clothing that was included was mostly cotton and satin fabrics. The colors were neutral earth tones, which complemented the models.

The neutral colors were my favorite part of the collection. There was also a wide range of material, which added to the bohemian theme. It was a nice change of pace to see simple pieces for a runway collection instead of over the top pieces.

Inspired by the clothing from the collection, I went with a tie-dye tank top to go with the theme. Although I am not wearing a long maxi dress, the items from this collection were more casual so I wanted to keep that trend. The shirt is comfortable and is also an example of how tie-dye is making a come back in the fashion world. I opted for a pair of dark wash jeans so I wouldn’t take away from the pattern of the shirt. Fringe booties are my personal go-to, but they also add more personality to the outfit and incorporate the collection theme into my look. I also added some of my own personality by adding gold jewelry.

On the runway, the A.L.C. spring 2016 collection included many fashionable pieces, but many of these can be translated into daily wearable items. This collection are great to take a look at to get some inspiration for the upcoming seasons.

Get My Look: 1. Tie-dye tank top. 2. Dark wash jeans. 3. Suede fringe booties.
