STYLE GURU STYLE: Tropical Fever

Finally! Now is the time it’s appropriate to wear shorts, and I am taking full advantage of this fashion opportunity. I have been waiting for the right time to wear these bold floral shorts, and after seeing Emma Cook‘s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I became inspired. This eye-catching line is colored with popular springtime hues, such as pastel yellows and powder blues, which make this collection desirable to wear for spring. In this collection, Cook welcomes a new freshness and lightness for spring that I want to have in my outfits this season.

My favorite pieces from her collection and what inspired this week’s STYLE GURU STYLE include Cook’s co-ords and the way she matched tops to bottoms. My goal is to make my look different and fun, and these shorts pretty much do the job. I did my best to incorporate Cook’s hand-painted floral theme into my look without having a matching top to pair my shorts with. Instead, I wore a white blouse with brown leather sandals to create a fresh and feminine feel.

Several boutiques and brands are putting forward more matching pieces for every Fashionista to experiment with. If you’re looking for matching tops and bottoms, my fashion favorites for this spring include this striped shirt paired with these striped shorts. This outfit is ideal for spring regardless of what type of printed shorts you choose. But one thing is for sure―wearing the perfect piece can give a new perspective to any outfit.

Get My Look: 1. A light blouse. 2. Tropical printed bottoms. 3. A pair of strappy, brown sandals.
