STYLE GURU STYLE: Trending With My Trousers

A rule that I like to live by is that less is more. Like the great Coco Chanel once said, “Once you’ve dressed, and before you leave the house, look in the mirror and at least one thing off.” A simple outfit can become an unforgettable look with just one statement piece.

A lot of the trends that are popular this season are influenced by the ’70s with the wide- legged trousers, colorful/floral patterns, wooden platforms, etc. My look is inspired by the Chanel spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection The line showcased a lot of blues, blacks, whites and, of course, colorful plaids. The outfits included tailored jackets, wide-legged trousers, and skirts. Of course there were a few of the suits that were made out of the tweed fabric that the Chanel brand is known for. All of the models also had blue eye shadow or had sunglasses on. From the Chanel collection I really wanted to play with the wide-legged trouser look for my outfit.

I like to work sometimes with classic pieces and make them a little more edgy by adding a fun accessory to my outfit. This outfit starts off basic with a white cropped tank top and denim colored trousers, which are so comfy and flattering. I paired this with a layered gold necklace to bring a little more edge to this outfit. I also paired it with a wooden platform heels because they are so comfy and easy to walk in; trust me I can walk in them all day and my feet won’t be killing me at the end of the day. My Ray-Ban sunglasses are also a must-have, I always carry them with me and they never go out of style. This outfit is perfect for a day of running errands or getting lunch with your friends!
