STYLE GURU STYLE: Traveling on Trend

Spring is when we begin to take vacations and go on spring break and embrace all of the wonderful possibilities that warm weather offers! On my traveling trek through Italy, I learned one important thing, no matter what you’re doing or how many miles you walk, you can always do it in style. Mixing some more practical pieces in along the way, of course, but never sacrificing your inner Fashionista from coming out!

On a day trip we took through an ancient city, also known as Rome, I opted to center my outfit around these to-die-for red shorts I just purchased! They have a belted section that makes you think I have a shirt tied around my waist but really it’s just part of the shorts and I’m totally obsessed. These tie-waist red shorts are absolutely going to be a new closet staple, and these Nordstrom high-waisted shorts are another great option for a similar look! I topped off the shorts with this adorable white see-through lace top. The pattern on the lace is my favorite part and adds another trendy touch to the outfit with its see-through pattern. You can shop for a similar style like this Who What Wear eyelet top.

For shoes, these perforated leather mules with a heel are a great spring/summer shoe to throw on with any outfit. The perforated detail matched my sweater and for practical purposes, they were actually pretty comfy when walking through Rome! Finally, I finished with accessories, a Kendra Scott Turquoise bangle and a pair of Quay Marbled sunglasses. Both of these are go-to’s for me but they totally helped add a pop of blue that was a great contrast to my red shorts!

Traveling can really make me want to throw on leggings and a flowy shirt sometimes, but by choosing to rock my personal style I feel 10 times more fabulous every day! I love neutrals too, but reds and blues have been some of my favorite pops of color to add to outfits for this spring. This outfit is a perfect one to travel in, but it also totally encompasses my personal style and that’s what makes me love it even more!
