STYLE GURU STYLE: Trash Bag Tote Is A Keeper

One of a girl’s favorite accessories is a simple handbag, you can either dress it up or dress it down. Whether you’re going out with friends or just going to school, a tote bag can make your look minimalistic.

Instead of carrying too many things at once in your hands, a tote bag can minimize the amount of stuff you want to bring.

Taking an inspiration from Anya Hindmarch’s “Trash bag tote,” from her spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I combined a style that is both classic and bold.  Without my big blue tote bag, this outfit would be nothing. So, I stuck to a color scheme where the blue on my pink shirt matched my tote bag perfectly. Her look also has a similar color palette by sticking to the blues and whites. I combined the pink floral shirt by Francesca’s with white pants from Marshall’s, and a tote bag from H&M. This look is comfortable, cute and perfect for street style.

Simple pieces can always be recreated by having an accessory that stands out. In this outfit, which consists of all simple and classic pieces, my goal is always to make it different yet unique in a way where it can stand out and create a statement. My tote bag was basically the accessory to make this outfit.

I always like to stand out from the crowd and try new styles, I don’t stick to one distinct style. This outfit is clearly girly, but I also like to dress into an outfit that can be all black; I always like to mix it up a little. Another thing I like to do is: always accessorize. In this outfit, I didn’t accessorize much but I added vintage sun glasses and the tote bag, just to accessorize and create that particular trend.

Large tote bags never go out of style. Many designer labels, such as kate spade and Michael Kors, carry large tote bags, which come in different styles. These pieces come together to create a style that stands out and makes me feel comfortable and girly all at the same time.

Get My Look: 1. Pink tank top. 2. White pants. 3. Large tote bag.
