As much as I’d like to live in a fictitiously eternal summer, I know that time keeps on truckin’ and that fashion moves in the same motion. To get in the spirit of back to school, I decided to peruse some awesome fall 2014 ready-to-wear fashion shows. The Rebecca Minkoff collection put me at ease with its effortless designs, relaxed silhouettes and stunning color palette. The juxtaposition of muted tones against deep colors is a great way to subtly introduce color into your fall wardrobe.
For this week I chose two of my favorite colors of the collection: muted pink and oxblood. I love the way that these two colors contrast each other in a very flattering and sophisticated way. I paired my muted pink blouse with my oxblood mini pencil skirt to achieve that fall yet still summery look. The caged boots that I have on are a great transitional shoe into the fall because they offer more protection than a sandal but still resemble the sandal construct.
My accessories consist of a delicate pearl ring bracelet and a gold statement chain necklace. For makeup this fall I am really looking forward to returning to the Lorde-inspired deep plum lip trend. I am wearing this lip color with a slightly winged eyeliner for a sultry look. As the weather gets windier you can add some black pantyhose and a cardigan for warmth. With amazing fashion inspiration such as the Rebecca Minkoff fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection, parting with summer is suddenly just a sweet sorrow.
