STYLE GURU STYLE: The Return of Classic Prints

Dolce&Gabbana gives us bold patterns in each look created within his summer 2015 summer collection. The designers manage to give the majority of their dramatic structured looks that irresistible charm. The collection as a whole is full of mixed patterns with delicate details, such as beading and embroidery, structured necklines and unique silhouettes. The colors are timeless and the pieces are the reinvented classic. Whether it’s the heavily encrusted waist clinchers or a ruffled and polka doted dress, the clothing line in this collection was fit for the modern woman due to the strong feminist prints and use of colors.

I have an incontestable love for basic pieces and classic prints. This collection has inspired me when it comes to those features. The black and red combos sported in a couple of the looks within this show caught my eye and inspired me the most.

Today, I rocked a look inspired by the timelessness Dolce&Gabbana created in his summer 2015 collection but decided to add my own touch. One look in particular stood out to me compared to other looks. The polka-dot structured skirt with the black crop top was the perfect combination of softness and toughness. I decided to pair a short retro-inspired polka-dot skirt with a classic nautical-stripe crop top. I also threw on a lick faux leather moto inspired vest. I love this moto vest due to the zippered asymmetrical front mock pockets and wide notched collar. Last but not least, to winter proof the outfit, I added a pair of black tights, and oversized Michael Kors bag and a pair of bold yellow heels with a fedora. The fedora is a statement piece that gives that effortlessly cool vibe to any outfit.

At the end of the day, I am completely happy with the way this look turned out. Classic and timeless will always be the way to go.
