STYLE GURU STYLE: The Power Of A White Dress

Spring is a wonderful time of the year, and it is a time when all colors of the spectrum are worn. They represent not only flowers’ unique color, but also the diversity of the colors that nature has to offer. Céline’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection inspired me to try an outfit with white. In particular, this look inspired me to incorporate black, white and even brown for a cold spring day. Dresses are a big statement that spring has officially arrived, but a white dress is the ultimate summer declaration.

I decided to incorporate a white dress into my style. However, black is a classic color that still looks sleek on a beautiful spring day. I wore black tights and a pair of flats to go with my white dress since the afternoons in Boston can get a bit chilly. Once the weather starts getting warmer, this is a great outfit since you can remove the tights and still look rad! Wearing a white dress is always fun and unconsciously lifts your spirits as we transition into spring and then go into summer.

In addition, I added my blazer and gold accessories to finish the look. My gold earrings, bracelet and necklace provided a sophisticated look to go for a nice brunch or afternoon Sunday tea. Nevertheless, my purse strap was light brown, allowing for some balance between the bold contrast of the black and white.

Get My Look: 1. A white dress. 2. Black tights and flats. 3. A blazer.
