STYLE GURU STYLE: The Perfect Hair for Scarf Weather

Snow has hit the University of Utah and I can’t get enough of it. With temperatures regularly hitting below zero, scarves are being donned. Scarf season is one of my favorites because it can elevate an outfit from simple jeans and a T-shirt to something a little more put together and a lot more versatile. Finals have taken over so many of our lives I have been picking out the easy outfits.

This outfit is one of my favorite denim dresses because of the fit, but more importantly because of the pockets. I live for pockets! I paired the dress with super warm tights, sometimes I think they are better than jeans and over the knee boots. To bring this whole outfit together, while avoiding cold metals, I opted for this infinity scarf.

Even though scarves can quickly pull together an outfit you are still going to be fighting the ultimate hair battle. There is a scarf phenomena that happens where your hair just doesn’t seem to have anywhere to go. I am the biggest fan of the top knot but sometimes it’s nice to change it up a little bit. This easy hairstyle has become a go-to for the days when I have meetings and presentations but still want to keep the hair out of my face.

You can recreate this look by taking a small section of the hair and securing it with an elastic then repeat. Split the first section of hair and secure it with an elastic around the section of hair, then repeat until you reach the opposite side. Take any leftover pieces and tuck them away with a bobby pin. This hairstyle is my favorite because it doesn’t require knowing how to braid and only takes 10 minutes.
