STYLE GURU STYLE: The Longer, the Better

Monochromatic outfits are a go-to when deciding what looks I want to embark on that day; especially when I decide to step outside of my comfort zone. While trying new trends and experimenting with certain pieces, I use the simplicity of the basic white and black colors to ease into my new style.

When finding new looks to try, I read up on my magazines, check out celebrity style and of course check out some of my fellow Style Gurus! For this STYLE GURU STYLE post, I decided to take some inspiration from Tome resort 2016 collection. Throughout the collection there were countless oversized jackets, trench coats and my favorite, a long-line vest.

Long vests have slowly made their entrance into my personal closest. I first began my obsession when I saw a similar vest styled on Sofia Richie, and my love could not be ended! For my look, I decided to pair my white long line collarless vest with black distressed high-waisted shorts, a black camisole and the perfect nude strap heels. To add some color to my ensemble, I decided to have my bag be the colorful piece and included my orange cross-body bag.

Styling long vests can be very simple! Due to its versatility, the vest can be dressed up or worn casually for a day filled with errands or to classes. When choosing to wear a long vest, it is always best to remember stay confident in your outfit choice. Remember, trying new things is great and can lead to an amazing outfit!
