STYLE GURU STYLE: The Little Black Everything Dress

What I’ve come to realize is that often times, during the summer, we find ourselves in a fashion heat funk—we completely run out of ideas and style inspiration for our daily outfits due to the excessive and unbearable heat and its constant reminders to keep our clothes to a minimum. When this major issue arises, there’s literally only one solution: Find a piece of clothing that is versatile and breezy and can be paired with absolutely anything (let’s stress the anything). Whether this piece is a cute dress, an edgy romper or a fashion-forward top, it’s important to know that you can wear it to absolutely any occasion—it doesn’t matter if it’s during the day or at night—as long as you pair it with the right accessories.

As a girly girl, my I’m-going-to-wear-this-to-everything choice was, of course, a dress. And as I was feeling greatly inspired by the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection, which featured a long list of beautiful summer dresses combined with the newest summer trend- espadrilles-I decided to find a way to emulate one of the looks in a manner which would not stray from my personal style. Since my name is Paula and I barely ever wear color, the dress had to be black—obviously. Its loose but very classic and elegant fit makes the dress perfect to wear at any time of the day. In came my pair of beautiful black lace-up espadrilles (oh, Oscar), my usual bracelets and an edgy choker. I added a to-die-for, classic red Chanel Boy bag (which I may or may not have stolen from my mom) and my new favorite Quay Australia mirror sunglasses that added the edgy detail to the overall look.

If this isn’t the most comfortable, laid back yet glamorous and easiest summer outfit to recreate, then what is? Let’s just say that you’ll see me wearing this quite a few times over the next couple of months. Thank you, my little black everything dress.
