I’ve been in love with military styles since middle school. From camouflage pants to army jackets, I’ve rocked it all over the past several years. There’s just something about olive green that makes an effortless look seem so fierce. Just when I thought this trend couldn’t get any better, Céline’s fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection mastered military-chic in an entirely new way. Olive shades popped beautifully against finely structured cream and gray pieces, and light colors worked as a feminine touch, while the exaggerated structures maintained a mature tone.
To translate these looks from the runway to real life, I knew the first thing I needed was something olive green. These pants by Lauren Conrad were the perfect shade and fit! To make the color pop like it did on the runway, I threw on my cutest cream tank top. The ruffles loosely reminded me of the strongly structured pieces from the show. Like Céline, I found that gold jewelry acted as a nice accent. I used my favorite Kelly Shami bracelet in addition to a thin gold band to add just the right amount of shine.
As I finished the look, I realized that a pair of heels could really balance out the weight of my ruffled tank. These chunky gold wedges were great for keeping things casual while stepping out in style. Armed with a pair of cool shades and a head of loose waves, I had so much fun taking my favorite childhood trend to the next level.
