STYLE GURU STYLE: The Grand Tour

Traveling through Europe has given me so much knowledge of not only fashion, but history as well. Europe has so much historical richness it is simply amazing. One event I found interesting is called “Grand Tour.” During this traditional trip, wealthy Europeans from England, Germany and Scandinavia traveled to Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome to introduce the lavish arts and culture France and Italy had to offer. It was such a coincidence when I saw that one of my favorite designers, Valentino, titled his spring 2015 collection after this event. The collection is full of European influences, mixed with graceful bohemian styles. Lace and soft pastel and neutral colors covered the runway.

My personal style has always been classic bohemian, but has become even more so with the European influences I’ve been surrounded by the past two months. In this photo, I’m wearing patterned, flowy pants that give a whimsical feel. I chose a neutral color, allowing me to pair them with different colored tops for a new look each time I wear them. My crop top is a soft pink with intricate lace details. My favorite part of this outfit is the accessories. Hats are all the rage now, but the key is the proportions. I like to keep it simple and classic with my hats so you can’t tell if it came out in 2015 or the 1940s. This way the hat is timeless and can be worn often. My crystal gold jewelry is from Stella and Dot and is the perfect addition to my Valentino-inspired look.

Get My Look: 1. Neutral, flowy pants. 2. Lace detailed shirt.  3. Classic wide-brimmed hat.
