Atelier Versace is taking the runway by storm with their deep hues and angular accents in their fall 2014 couture collection. This collection contains flattering silhouettes with a dynamic edge. Corset bodices are paired with leather buckle accents to create a dynamic twist on femininity and produce an edgy vibe. Fringe, leather, fur and metallic elements are later introduced to form a diverse and exciting collection.
This sleek and elegant collection begins with an all-black ensemble. The looks then transition between black and navy with leather buckle accents. White and black combinations are then introduced with fur and metallic elements. An elegant twist is incorporated with the introduction of ornate gowns, which then conclude the collection.
With black and navy being two of the staple colors in the couture collection, I chose to use them as the staple colors for my inspired look. My look incorporates Atelier Versace’s use of angular accents, leather and deep hues. Many people consider the pairing of navy and black to be a major fashion faux pas. I believe that there are rules, and then there are exceptions to the rules. In this case, this navy and black combination is the exception to the rule.
I began with a navy and blue dressy tank top. The navy panels on the top create an angular element within the look. Simple black skinnies are then paired with the top to create that crisp edge seen in the Atelier Versace collection.
Jewelry and accessories are added last to create the final touches. Strappy black gladiator sandals, a small leather bag and wrist jewelry aid in the creation of a polished look. The leather accessories and small jewels helped create a similar dynamic edge that you can find in the fall couture 2014 collection. All that is left is to grab your car keys and go. This look is perfect for those dinners out with friends and many other summer social gatherings that may arise.
