STYLE GURU STYLE: The City That Never Sleeps

Some may say New York is the city that never sleeps, but I would have to argue any college campus has just the same effect. Between school, homework, extra curriculars, staying in shape, etc., there never seems to be any time to sleep. I love the feeling of being productive and always having something to do, so this year I’ve really tried to get involved on campus. The only downside of doing everything is not getting enough sleep. I don’t know about you but I love to sleep! After a long day of walking all around campus, doing homework, going to club activities and possibly even working out (am I crazy?), nothing seems dreamier than catch a few z’s. Since I attend a school for fashion, I find that it is crucial to dress up everyday, plus I just enjoy it. That means no sweatpants or pajamas to class. It may be hard sometimes, but I feel a million times better when I look and feel good.

Here is a simple and cute outfit for your laziest of days, plus you could make this outfit as dressy as you need it to be and wear it out for a night on the town. In honor of sleepless nights, I am wearing this NYC T-shirt from JcPenney, which I paired with a midi skirt from Zara. A skirt is typically my go-to on lazy days because it is so simple and you don’t even have to put on pants! I have also been really into midi skirts because they are a trend that I don’t think will ever go out of style, plus they can either be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Now I recommend pairing every school day outfit with comfortable shoes, because you could literally walk numerous miles a day on a college campus without trying. My shoes are from Nordstrom, however, I am still breaking them in so they are not the most comfortable. If you do go out for dinner with the girls, you can pair this outfit with heels, and voilà! Finally to add a little glam to my outfit I paired it with this necklace from J.Crew Factory.
