STYLE GURU STYLE: Thanksgiving

“I like simple things. Elastic waists, so I can eat.” –Barbra Streisand

Are you ready for that time of the year where you get to catch up with family and friends while also balancing a food coma? Good, because Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and I am definitely having turkey and macaroni filled dreams. If you’re anything like me, you probably want to be comfortable and stylish, and be able to bend over after eating your weight in food. But here’s the dilemma: how can you dress comfortably without channeling Joey Tribbiani and his Thanksgiving pants? Jeggings! Trade in your skinny jeans for a pair of jeggings. You will still have the chic look of skinnies but with an elastic waistband. Pair your jeggings with a sweater for added comfort. Now is the time to add warm layers to your wardrobe, so look for loose fitting sweaters in dark earth tones like orange, gold and burgundy.

For this look, I paired dark wash jeggings with a cropped burnt orange sweater. The sweater features a cowl neck and two gold zippers that give it an edgy look. I also added a pair of brown and gold oxford shoes. Oxfords are not only super comfortable, but they are also perfect for those events where you aren’t sure if you should dress up or dress down. To accessorize the look, I added a tan oversized Betsey Johnson tote bag, tortoise sunglasses, hoop earrings and a gold bracelet. I topped the look off with minimal makeup and a simple ponytail. Happy Thanksgiving!
