STYLE GURU STYLE: Sweatshirt and Chill

Like any Fashionista, I absolutely love to get dressed up. Between fun outings with friends, appearances as Miss Green Bay Area 2016 and family events, I always have a reason to slip on my heels, some sparkly jewelry and a chic dress. However, I also love rocking casual looks too. When I do dress more casually, I try to mix it up with unique pieces that make me stand out in the crowd.

I found inspiration for a unique, casual look in the Vetements fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection. I loved the Parisian vibe of the overall collection; all of the looks were elevated, upgraded examples of everyday street style and appeared absolutely effortless. I was drawn to the wearable mixes of white button-up shirts, tube socks, T-shirts and sweatshirts and feminine dresses that made the variety of looks accessible and appropriate for everyday occasions. I also enjoyed the mix of fabrics. The luxe velvet and rich leather were balanced with the casual plaids, basic stripes on the button-ups and cotton fabrics. What caught my eye the most were the variety of fun, graphic tops throughout the collection. I love how with just a few words or a picture on your top, you can show a bit of your personality without even opening up your mouth.

I translated this Vetements look by finding my own graphic sweatshirt and building from there. I wore a cozy Brandy Melville sweatshirt reading, “Uh Huh Honey,” because no matter what he’s tweeting about, we still love us some Kanye tunes. I wanted to keep my look comfy and casual, so I chose thick black leggings and my trusty Converse. To amp up my look and show my own personality, I added my heart eyes emoji kate spade new york earrings and a couple of my favorite, customized Ryan Porter bracelets.

Get My Look: 1. A fun sweatshirt. 2. Basic black leggings. 3. A pair of sweet sneakers.
