STYLE GURU STYLE: Sweater Weather

For some of us, winter break is still going strong, and with the holidays over and many of my friends back at school, it’s sometimes hard to motivate myself to get out of my pajamas and ready for the day. After the last few weeks of Christmas feasts and New Year’s festivities, squeezing into my favorite pair of skinny jeans isn’t as appealing for a lazy day at home. So this week, toss on a sweater dress, throw your hair into a low bun, and enjoy these last few days of break beyond the comfort of your bed.

After the busy holidays as I await the upcoming semester, there is nothing better than relaxing in comfy clothing. But comfort doesn’t always mean sweats and T-shirts. One of my favorite go-to comfort clothes is sweater dresses. The past few months my Instagram feed has been full of famous models like Hailey Baldwin, Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner dressed in large sweatshirts, leaving their pants behind. For this look, I did the same but with a turtleneck sweater, because not all of us have a plethora of Kanye West’s tour merchandise like those celebrities.

In this outfit, I am wearing an extra baggy sweater dress. The darker tones are perfect for this gray winter weather and are extra cozy as the temperatures continue to drop. To go with the dress, I kept it super simple with sheer tights and little black booties. Although I normally lean towards gold jewelry, I picked silver hoops and rings for this look to better go with the gray dress. This look is perfect for a lazy day of Netflix and hanging around with your roommates but will make you feel better than just laying around in your pajamas. Look good, feel good, right? This sweater dress is baggier but you can easily choose a more fitted one for a nicer occasion and pair it with more heels or over-the-knee boots.
