STYLE GURU STYLE: Summer to Fall Transition

Its transition season! What does that entail? Classes, less time and a change in the temperature. This awkward transition season is a challenge because of the lack of time to put together looks and the confusion on what the weather may be like. Yes, it may be 61 degrees on the way to your 8:00 a.m. class, but at 5:00 p.m. when you are running from class to work, I can guarantee you aren’t going to want to wear that sweater you put on this morning.

In this outfit I paired distressed black jeans, a flowy American Eagle Outfitters white T-shirt and a vest. With less time this fall semester while transitioning from summer to school, these three simple pieces are easy and comfortable during a long school day. Also, it is very easy to add a few trendy accessories. The Steve Madden flats that I paired with this look are reasonable for your feet while running around during a busy day because they are easy to slip on and they provide comfort. Not to mention, they also tie together the white shirt and the black jeans. To make the look seem more put together, I added a chunky silver necklace. Finally, my favorite addition is black Ray Ban sunglasses, to shade the possible sun and hide the lack of makeup on your busiest days.

A perfect way to solve the temperature confusion is to add a jean vest or jean jacket to any outfit. Not only are they trendy in this season, but they are easy to take off and store in a backpack when it gets hot or when they are in your way when you are on the run. It is also good to pair jeans or pants with a shorter sleeve draped shirt to compromise with the weather transitions so you are ready for any temperature.

There’s no excuse for not looking your best this busy season with a look as easy as this. So get out there, conquer the weather, and be a trendsetter in this transition from summer to fall!
