STYLE GURU STYLE: Stealing From The Boys

I wanted to let you guys in on a little secret. This should be known already, but I want to let you guys know that we have the freedom to wear what we want, when want, no matter other people’s thoughts and judgments. Fashion shouldn’t be another negative stereotype. It should be celebrated because we are surrounded by so many different and amazing people whom we get to catch a glimpse of through what they’re wearing. If a certain article of clothing makes you feel good and comfortable, then go for it!

Men’s clothing every now and then has pieces that catch my eye and make me want to wear them. I don’t let the fact that it’s meant for the boys stop me from buying such pieces. I think it’s fun to see how one person styles it from the other. It’s about enjoying, experimenting and appreciating each other’s art.

The Acne fall 2015 menswear collection is full of sass, feminist vibes and positivity. This is exactly what the world of fashion needs! I love it when a collection breaks boundaries and lets others know that rules and stereotypes can be broken. I decided to wear my short sleeve button-down that I found in the men’s section of Urban Outfitters. Its weird but fun print immediately caught my attention, and its soft fabric made it perfect! To feed off this collection’s sassiness and feminine touch, I paired this top with my denim bottoms for a clean slate. I added my bow headband, a light pink lip and my ballerina shoes for a girly and casual look.

So let’s hear it for the boys and girls because we both rock. We need to show each other that it’s not a competition, but rather that it’s all about respect and equality.
