STYLE GURU STYLE: Start Talkin’ Or Start Walkin’

We need to talk.

Four words that typically hold a lot of meaning behind them don’t necessarily have to portray a little conversing as such a bad thing. I say let’s switch things up a bit; out with “let’s talk,” in with “let’s converse.”

Drawing inspiration from both the Colcci and Gloria Coelho spring 2015 fashion shows, I found a way to creatively imitate these runway looks in a more everyday approach. These shows steal the runway with uniquely simple color schemes and footwear more eye-catching than GQ’s latest man-candy. Amongst the Colcci looks there is a strong undertaking and emphasis placed on the footwear, bringing the notable masterpieces full-circle. Within Coelho’s looks there is a slight, yet still apparent spark brought to certain looks through the sneak of color amongst the footwear.

A simple outfit can go a long way with a strong pair of shoes. Taking note from these runway looks, I found a way to convey them in a more approachable manner without losing the overall structure. I chose to mimic a simple two-toned dress, allowing my footwear to consist as the focal point gaining the remainder of the attention. If people are going to want to talk, give them something worth conversing over right?

Converse sneakers help to ease up any last minute outfit rigidness in a fun, flirty choice of footwear. You not only come across as more approachable, but ready to adventure on the whim. The addition of color in the shoes helps to draw attention in and give the outfit a more completed feel as so with the runway looks.

Get My Look: 1. A simple-patterned, free-flowing dress. 2. Converse sneakers. 3. A small accessory.
