STYLE GURU STYLE: Spring Transition

Happy Tuesday, Fashionistas/os! The weather has finally let us enjoy the beginnings of spring! With such great weather, I was able to channel Ralph Lauren’s runway collection for the spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection that I have actually had my eye on for awhile. His collection is predominantly consistent of military greens, navy, magentas and other antique and brassy colors. The safari concept presented in the collection is a great transition into the new season. The collection contains beautiful satins and gemstone earrings to accompany his safari and cargo complements.

Since it was a sunny and breezy day, I went for it. Although I did not have silk shirts or bottoms, I used leather leggings for that faux satin look, and implemented a magenta tank top with a green safari-infused button-down. This week, I tried to keep it simple since the semester is really shifting gears and becoming tougher. To stay in the color palette of the collection, I tried not to stray from the neutrals or brassy accessories. I donned on my favorite pair of taupe boots with brassy buckles and slipped on some brass earrings I felt were similar to Ralph Lauren’s.

I cannot express enough how much I loved his ready-to-wear collection! It truly inspired me to embrace the safari colors and front pockets of button-downs even more. And to finish my outfit, I paid tribute to Ralph Lauren by shielding my eyes from the gorgeous sunlight with a black Polo hat.

Get My Look: 1. A safari shirt. 2. Taupe shoes with brassy accents. 3. Neutral colored accessories.
