STYLE GURU STYLE: Spring Is (Almost) Here

March 13th, 2015 at 2:00am

It’s finally March, midterms are over and spring is quickly approaching. Sure, winter fashion is fun and fabulous, but it’s almost time to dust off our dresses, shorts and tank tops that have been packed away for months. It’s been a brutal winter season, so I’m thrilled to see spring collections in stores, but my wallet…not so much.

Zadig and Voltaire’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection is perfect for the upcoming season transition. Dresses, shorts, leather and blazers are all great pieces to have in your wardrobe while the temperature fluctuates. I loved this collection so much, so I decided to give it a try this week.

You can never go wrong with black. Black is a great color no matter what the season may be. Fall, winter, spring or summer, black will always be my go-to. Black is also a staple in Zadig and Voltaire’s runway ensembles. It’s a classic, timeless color that proves time and time again why black will always be the new black.

Leather was also a reoccurring trend in their spring collection. Don’t think that leather is just for colder weather. Leather can be worn in many different ways, such as on your feet, as a jacket or as a skirt. My quilted leather sneakers are trendy and comfortable on my fifteen minute walk to class. My leather jacket is always with me this time of year. It’s just enough to keep me warm while still being lightweight.

Since it’s not 75 degrees and sunny every day yet, I complete my look with black tights. They keep my legs warm and add another element to my outfit.

Get My Look: 1. A comfortable black dress. 2. Necessary black tights. 3. A rad leather jacket.
