STYLE GURU STYLE: South Florida Supreme

“Winter” is somewhat obsolete down here in tropical Stuart, Florida, so my go-to style usually involves high-waisted shorts and my favorite pair of sneakers. I’ve recently been all about New York based street brand T-shirts and wanted to incorporate that trend into a more Floridan look!

One of my favorite aspects of fashion is that there really are no rules, and I strongly believe in wearing whatever style you wake up feeling that day. Why adhere to just one when there are so many options? The possibilities are seriously endless when it comes to clothing, and I could never tie myself down to a particular look. If I were to describe my personal style in one word it would be versatile. As I continue to evolve, my look does too. I love switching it up, trying new trends, and expressing myself through them!

This particular day I was feeling the edgy-skater vibe, which was inspired by my favorite pair of vans I recently had signed and drawn on at a concert. I swore I would never wear them again because the signature is so dope and I want to preserve them, but they really were an awesome addition to this outfit. Any white slip-ons with black detail will do though!

As I said before, I’m still not over high-wasted shorts and they’re perfect for the temperate weather. Black and white is such a classic color combo, and the subtle white details, like the ones on the shorts, really make a difference. The statement piece in this outfit is definitely the bold Supreme T-shirt, which I usually tie on the side in a knot because it adds a little something. The cat-eye sunglasses are my absolute favorite part of this look! They’re just so retro and I feel like you can never go wrong with a fun pair of sunnies, especially when that south Florida sun is forcing you to squint in all your photos.

If there is anything I would want you take away from this post, it’s that there’s nothing wrong or to be afraid of when it comes to switching up your look. Get out there, try new things, and have fun with it! Fashion is so subjective. It really is an outlet for creativity and self expression. We’re all Fashionistas with our own unique styles, so work it!
