STYLE GURU STYLE: Sometimes It’s Good To Fake It

Simply put, the latest Stella McCartney runway show was classic with a twist. The rich neutrals, luxe faux fur and creative tailoring made me look forward to fall. The color scheme mainly consisted of camel, black and gray hues. Wardrobe staples, such as trousers and coats, were given new life with updated silhouettes and unique details. The oversized coats and slinky turtleneck dresses looked effortlessly chic, but the real standout piece was the long, camel faux fur vest. Fur can elevate any outfit, but it can be hard to find animal-friendly alternatives that look like the real deal. Stella McCartney has always been known for being anti-fur, and her beautiful fake fur alternatives prove that being animal-friendly is in style.

In this outfit I took a cue from Stella and threw on a cozy brown faux fur vest to keep myself warm and chic. I also added a red lip and jeweled statement necklace from J.Crew to elevate my gray shirt and jeans. Simple black flats with gold detailing kept my outfit from being too flashy. Before, rocking fur seemed like a move only Carrie Bradshaw could pull off. In addition, finding fake fur that didn’t look too fake was a challenge all on its own. After seeing Stella McCartney’s collection, I got inspired and found out that fake fur is my jam. This pre-fall 2015 show inspired me to embrace the look of fur and seek out beautiful, animal-friendly styles.

Get My Look: 1. A beautiful fake fur vest. 2.The perfect statement necklace. 3. A cherry red lip.
