The question that always lingers in my mind every season is what the must-have skirt length will be? Will it be maxi, midi, knee or mini? The Fausto Puglisi resort 2015 collection is filled with many different skirt styles and lengths, but the midi length definitely came out on top. We’ve been seeing this midi length gaining popularity since the spring shows and it looks like it’s not going anywhere! Personally, I love this style of skirt. It creates a very ladylike look while remaining chic and current at the same time.
I decided to try out the midi trend with a green skirt with white polka-dots. It’s pleated to give it a full and flowing effect. What I really love about this skirt is that the length keeps it modest and balances out the loud color/print. I paired it with a black lace top that has little cap sleeves and a sweetheart neckline with lace details at the top. I went with a beige, beaded necklace because I thought the braided texture of it created a nice contrast with the lace. For shoes, I wore my black heeled sandals, which complete any outfit perfectly.
What I love about the midi style is how versatile it is. The length makes it appropriate for work, but also tasteful. I could see myself pairing my midi skirt with a nice blazer for a more professional look or with a crop top and some statement jewelry for a night out. To dress it down, I could throw on a denim jacket. There are endless possibilities with this skirt and I’m sure it will be the best answer to any fashion dilemmas this summer!
