STYLE GURU STYLE: Slits For Days

Finding an interesting way to pull a new trend into my wardrobe is one of my favorite ways to dress. Reaching outside the box is good for the creative side of fashion and proves for tons of compliments.

Slits have been popular for a while now, even more so on the spring 2015 runways. The Angelina Jolie leg is still relevant, Fashionistas. In the Elie Saab spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, the deep double slits were a showstopper. After Kendall Jenner stepped out in her Fausto Puglisi gown with extreme double slits at the Much Music Video Awards last year, this trend was not something I could ignore any longer. However, I prefer pants under my extra high slits. Since this runway trend was mostly in evening gowns, it’s a unique trend to bring into your everyday wardrobe as it’s unexpected and has just enough whimsy for the summer season.

This look can be dressed up or down, although I chose a more casual vibe. My outfit includes a white, longline blouse with double slits from ASOS. The light, airy material allows the slits to open when I walk and it’s very breathable for the summer heat. I chose my favorite American Eagle Outfitters boyfriend jeans. They give the outfit a little bit of masculinity and edge since it’s so feminine and light. I’m also wearing a choker necklace to give some balance to the upper half of my outfit, and I bottomed it off with some cool Dune sandals in a strappy style that’s really on-trend.

Get My Look: 1. A super cool longline tank top with slits. 2. Boyfriend jeans. 3. Sandals with a bit of bling.
