STYLE GURU STYLE: Skirt Lovin’

Skirts are, and have always been, an essential part of my wardrobe. And for this season, I know that my denim, button-down mini skirt will be my go-to for creating a perfect fall look. You can already see me wearing this piece in this outfit, which was undoubtedly inspired by the Carven spring 2017 ready-to-wear runway show. When scrolling through the pictures from the line I saw skirts in so many of the looks, which made me want to put my own unique spin on this upcoming trend (especially since I had so many skirts hanging up in my closet already).

In this runway show, a lot of the skirts were paired with blouses. But to make wearing a skirt more appropriate for the season, I decided to opt out of a blouse and layer some sweaters together instead. My striped sweater tucked into my skirt effortlessly, and I added a chunky cardigan over top for extra warmth (and flair!). This totally transformed my look into something extremely cozy and weather appropriate. My look was mostly neutral between the denim and gray tones, but the striped sweater added a little pop of color for some interest.

Still keeping the season in mind, I wore my favorite pair of nude heeled booties with some warm socks peeking out of the top. If you know me at all, you know I’m a sucker for a good pair of socks, so I had to incorporate some into this fall look. This look could be worn for class, brunch or a day in the city since it’s practical, snug and trendy all at the same time.
