STYLE GURU STYLE: Saved By The Bell (Sleeves)

As festival season comes to an end, many of us are not quite ready to be rid of our favorite boho pieces. Worry not Coachella lovers and Vanessa Hudgens worshipers because Atelier Versace is here to bring your favorites right into fall. There is no question that the Atelier Versace fall/winter 2015 couture collection was definitely the dreamiest show of fashion month. Almost all of the garments were in light pastels and airy fabrics. Many of the looks featured mini dresses with long textured bell sleeves giving a nod to the ‘70s, while still looking appropriate for modern day. The models looked straight out of a fairytale covered in flower crowns, ruffles and lace.

Often couture can be over the top and unwearable for everyday life; however, when you take specific inspiration, you can easily translate it into your own personal style. I decided to put my own spin on the trends brought out by Atelier Versace. I loved the idea of mini dresses with textured bell sleeves, but I prefer darker colors rather than pastels during the fall. So, I traded the pinks and purples for emerald and black. The lace crochet detailing on the sleeve adds a boho feel to the mini as does the looser fit, which also helps make it a perfect easy to throw on comfy dress.

Since it’s still pretty hot out here in Massachusetts, I paired my mini dress with short booties, but as it gets colder, I could definitely see it with tights or thigh high socks and over the knee boots. Finally, I also chose my favorite statement necklace. I find that the antique coins add to the refined bohemian feel of the look.

Get My Look: 1. Bell sleeve mini dress. 2. Ankle booties. 3. Statement necklace.
